Bryophyte
This moss is an example of a bryophyte. Bryophytes typically release spores in order to spread their gametes for reproduction. A unique characteristic for bryophytes is the haploid-diploid alteration of generations. This means that in one generation the organism will be a diploid, but as it cycles through the the next generation, that next generation will be haploid.
Seedless Vascular
This fern is an example of a Seedless Vascular plant. Differing from the bryophytes, seedless vascular plants have vascular tissue, which functions as structure and nutrient transport for the fern. As the name would suggest, seedless vascular plants do not use seeds, but similarly to bryophytes, use spores in order to spread their gametes.
Gymnosperm
This pine is an example of a gymnosperm. A gymnosperm's most significant development is the fact that is develops seeds open to the air in ovules. These cones are then dropped or picked off from the plant and spread to another location. They then germinate and grow in that location, continuing the species.
Angiosperm
These flowers are examples of angiosperms. Angiosperms are flowering plants that use pollen to transfer their male gametes. The pollen is then transferred to other flowers where the eggs are contained. The eggs are then fertilized and the flowers drops the seeds and the flowers grow.
30. #33 - Epithelial tissue
Epithelial tissue is a tissue used by the body as a covering for the body. It is used to contain organs and bodily fluids. The most common example of epithelial tissue is the skin. My picture shows cracked skin on my hand (which happens to be where I burn myself time and time again on the grill at work...).
