This cactus is an example of a C4 plant. A C4 plant creates a four carbon sugar instead of the normal 3 carbon sugar as the result of performing photosynthesis. These plants live in hot climates and use a four carbon sugar in order to keep photosynthesis efficient.

This leaf is from a tomato plant and is an example of the cuticle layer of a plant. The cuticle layer of of a plant is a waxy protective layer covering the epidermal cells in the leaves.

Butter is a good example of a lipid. The fats in the butter are used to store energy. When people eat butter our bodies tend to store the fat instead of immediately burning it off.

Lettuce is an example of a long day plant because it only flowers after being exposed to long periods of sunlight, like in the summer when the days are longer than their critical day length.

Slugs are hermaphrodites which mean they have both male and female reproductive organs. Often times when snails reproduce they find a mate and both exchange sperm. Eventually both snails with lay eggs instead of just one.
